As Human Beings, we are, if we live long enough, inevitably going to experience some form of grief. this is part and parcel of our existence. Some of us may get through life with the gradual loss of our older loved ones. For some of us, though, grief can be sudden and traumatic. No matter how much we worry, there may be no way to protect us from those events. It's how we react afterwards. That is what we call grief, and we wouldn't want to stop those natural feelings of loss.
Now i dont believe there hould be any particular time frame to overcome the feeling of grief. it is intensely personal to the individual. Sometimes, in a relatively short time, we may be able to bring acceptance in and let go of the pain and embrace the memories we have. however, other times, we can find it difficult to move on, and I'm going to say you can absolutely understand why this may be the case. we form deep attachments to others, they may have been integral to our life and how we see ourselves. We can also experience grief in other contexts in life, like a break up for instance and other times we've felt loss If we feel stuck, though, and can't move on while still remembering our loved ones, what do we do?

If we experience Grief, we will go through different phases of emotions. These can include what is known as the seven stages of Grief: shock, disbelief, denial, guilt and shame, bargaining, depression, loneliness, reflection, and reconstruction and acceptance.

Shock and disbelief are normal reactions, even when we know in advance.

Denial, not being able to process what has happened.

Guilt and shame, perhaps regret in our relationships with our loved ones.

Depression and loneliness, missing our loved ones and feeling isolated.

Reconstruction and acceptance, letting go of the pain.
The wonderful thing about Hypnotherapy for Grief is that it can help people let go of some of the pain, perhaps to their lives and the people missing from them, in a more nuanced way. Our feelings may not exactly mirror those in the classical model of grief, but we do nearly always encounter some of these emotions when experiencing Grief.
Hypnotherapy can help at every stage of the Grief process, but primarily when we cannot hide the pain we are feeling. It's not that time should be an absolute barometer of grief, but perhaps if we feel stuck, then it is time to act. What I say to my clients after a period of time is that there is a difference between remembering our loved ones and grieving. Sometimes, people feel they are not honouring their loss if they are not suffering.
